Phonics Phases 2 – 6:Thursday 11th January at 9:30am
Mrs Piddington will be running a phonics workshop to support Parents and Carers in understanding and using phonics to support children’s reading and writing skills. The workshop will provide an opportunity to become more familiar with Phases 2-6 in Letters and Sounds and give some practical and engaging activities to try at home. There will be hands on activities set up around the hall and the chance to ask any questions you may have.
Phonics Phase 1: 10th January at 9:30am
Miss Samuels will also be running a Phase 1 phonics workshop to support parents in being using elements of Phase 1 activities at home with their children. Phase 1 of Letters and Sounds focuses on distinguishing sounds and developing listening skills, including environmental sounds and rhyming. Parents and Carers will be given a bank of songs and nursery rhymes to use at home, alongside more practical activities.
Mathletics: 15th January 2018 at 9:30am and 4:00pm
Come along and learn how to best support your child at home when they are using Mathletics. Mrs Darby (our Maths Coordinator) will be running a Mathletics Workshop to demonstrate the key features, how to navigate the website and how you can help your child to consolidate their maths learning. These sessions will provide an opportunity for you to login and access the site and ask any questions or queries you may have.
Writing and Phonics: 13th September 2017
An interactive workshop for our Early Years families. This workshop is aimed at providing parents and carers with the opportunity to see how we teach early writing skills and phonics at Heber. There will also be plenty of ideas shared that will support with home learning
Maths in the Early Years: 14th September 2017
Come along and find out how maths is introduced to children and developed during their time in our Early Years. Parents and carers will come away with lots of ideas to support children’s mathematical development at home
