On Friday 5th May, the children of Year 3 commenced their new topic about the Stone Age with a fun immersion day of drama and art.
The children travelled back to the days of early man to explore the changes in Britain through the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. The children acted out scenes from the Neolithic period, creating freeze frames. In the photographs, the children are acting out; hunting, building houses, growing crops, taming animals, playing games and trading livestock.
Cave Art Activity
In the afternoon, the children learnt about cave paintings which were discovered in Altamira, in Spain. The pupils were inspired by the Neolithic artwork and created their own cave art. They created the cave out of a cereal box and decorated inside with drawings of animals and hunters.
