The children at Heber have worked together to create a Remembrance Day display. Each class contributed their own wreath and some of the poems written by Year 6 have been displayed alongside them. 1S have been busy in maths solving addition word problems. We were able to choose which resources we wanted to use to help us. Some of us counted using our fingers, some of us used cubes and others used a number line. We are getting really good at looking for key words and clues in the word problem to help us to write number sentences
Year 2’s Royal Immersion Day started off with the children coming into school as Kings and Queens from Royal Families. The children spent the morning making bunting, creating and talking about coats of arms. After lunch we had a catwalk show, and the classes danced the afternoon away and enjoyed a big feast to end the celebration.
Digital Leadership: Report from Ms Darrell I am very pleased to announce that our Digital Leader recruitment drive went off with a bang! Over 50 application forms were received and I was very impressed with the quality of answers given on the forms. Mrs Jefford and I whittled the applications down to 18 and we had the pleasure of interviewing some incredible children.
Last week the children from Year One travelled to Sydenham Woods for a Nature Walk linked to their learning about Autumn and Science. Whilst at the woods, they had to complete a number of challenges and activities. The children enjoyed their trip and learned about the changes that occur during Autumn. [nggallery id=116]
We are now using Times Tables Rock Stars at Heber Primary School. Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced programme of daily times tables practice. Each week concentrates on a different times table, with a recommended consolidation week for rehearsing the tables that have recently been practiced every third week or so.
